Welcome to Shiraoi Town

The town of Shiraoi, approximately 100 km south of Sapporo, and about 60 km southwest of New Chitose Airport, the gateway to Hokkaido. The town faces the Pacific Ocean with Tomakomai City on the east and Noboribetsu Town on the west. It is rich with Ainu history and culture, and with natural beauty as seen in the many forests, rivers, lakes, mountains, and the ocean.
Another inviting aspect is the abundant hot springs such as the Shiraoi Hot Springs and Kojohama Hot Springs to name a few. The fertile land is the source of high quality foods that are grown here. It is not merely the perfect hub for sightseeing, but also offers a myriad of experiential activities, making it a great destination for long-stays. We highly suggest Shiraoi for personal travel, group trips, and educational travel such as overnight school trips.
